BREAKING: I Won’t Move! Commissioner Resigns, Declines To Move To APC With Gov Eno

Comrade Ini Ememobong, the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties and Ibom Deep Sea Port, has tendered his resignation from the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council.
In a letter dated June 6, 2025, and addressed to Governor Pastor Umo Eno, Ememobong expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to serve in two key ministries — Information and Special Duties — during his time in the administration. He described the experience as “very enlightening” and expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him.
However, Ememobong stated that he could no longer continue in his role following a directive from the governor that all political appointees unwilling to switch allegiance from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) should resign.
“You have directed that any appointee who is unwilling to accompany you to switch from the People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress should resign. Ipso facto, based on my personal conviction, I will be unable to join the All Progressives Congress,” Ememobong wrote.
He formally announced his resignation as Commissioner and a member of the State Executive Council, citing loyalty to his personal political beliefs.
