INEC Releases Dates for Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the official schedule for the 2025 Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, giving eligible Nigerians a clear timeline for both online and in-person registration.
According to the Commission’s notice, online pre-registration is set to commence on Monday, August 18, 2025. Interested applicants can visit www.cvr.inecnigeria.org to submit their details, passport photograph, and select an appointment date for completing the process in person.

Following this, physical registration will kick off on Monday, August 25, 2025. Registration will be conducted across INEC Local Government offices nationwide as well as at other designated centres. The exercise will hold from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays.
INEC has reiterated that registration is mandatory for participation in elections, and individuals who fail to register or update their voter information will be excluded from voting in future polls.

The Commission urged all eligible Nigerians, especially those who recently turned 18 or have changed their place of residence, to take advantage of the registration window to ensure their names appear on the Register of Voters
