Pharmanews Publisher, Sir Ifeanyi Atueyi, Passes On at 85
With gratitude to God for a life well spent in purpose and impact, the family of Sir Ifeanyi Atueyi, in collaboration with the Pharmanews team, announces the peaceful passing of their beloved Founder and Publisher on 15 July 2025, at the age of 85.
Born on 1 October 1939, Sir Atueyi lived an exemplary life defined by steadfast faith, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the advancement of Pharmacy and healthcare journalism in Nigeria and beyond. As the visionary behind Pharmanews, Nigeria’s foremost health journal, which he founded in 1979, Sir Atueyi successfully nurtured the publication for over four decades, establishing it as a trusted voice among pharmaceutical and healthcare stakeholders.

Widely respected for his editorial leadership, industry advocacy, and deep Christian convictions, Sir Atueyi mentored generations of pharmacists, entrepreneurs, and communicators. He was a dedicated patron of the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students (PANS), supporting the growth and professional development of young pharmacists across the nation.
Through his prolific writing, public speaking, and unwavering commitment to ethical standards, Sir Atueyi consistently championed professional excellence, ethical practice, and spiritual values in business and public life.

A Knight of the Order of Saint Christopher (KSC), Sir Atueyi was also a Fellow of several distinguished professional bodies and the recipient of numerous awards in recognition of his outstanding contributions to pharmacy, healthcare, publishing, and nation-building.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lady Joan Atueyi, five children, 12 grandchildren, and a rich legacy of faith, service, and enduring impact.
