BREAKING: Military Jet Crashes Into School Campus in Dhaka, One Dead, Several Injured
Tragedy struck Dhaka’s Uttara area on Monday afternoon as a Bangladesh Air Force military jet crashed onto the campus of Milestone School and College, leaving at least one person dead and several others injured. The incident sparked panic as flames and thick smoke engulfed the area.
Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos as students were said to be present on the school premises when the crash occurred. Television footage showed dramatic images of fire and dense plumes of smoke rising from the site of the crash.
“At least one person died and four others were injured,” confirmed Lima Khan, an official of the Fire Service, speaking over the phone. However, she withheld further details regarding the identities of the victims or the severity of the injuries sustained.
In a brief statement, the Bangladesh Army’s Public Relations Office identified the downed aircraft as an F-7 BGI jet, a model commonly used by the Bangladesh Air Force.
Emergency response teams swiftly launched rescue operations, securing the area and working to extinguish the fire. Firefighters battled to bring the situation under control while first responders attended to the injured.
