Four Killed in Lagos Clashes as Police Declare Company CEO Wanted
The Lagos State Police Command has declared the Chief Executive Officer of Prosperous Ariori Golden Venture Limited, Abiodun Ariori, wanted over his alleged role in a violent clash between traders and suspected land grabbers at Owode Onirin, which left three people dead.
Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that a police inspector also sustained life-threatening injuries during the fracas, while the victims were confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital.

According to him, the unrest led to the blockage of major highways and disrupted commercial activities in the area before order was restored by a combined police team led by the Commissioner of Police, Moshood Olohundare Jimoh. Adequate personnel have since been deployed to forestall further violence.
Hundeyin disclosed that Ariori was declared wanted following preliminary investigations that linked him to the unrest. “The wanted suspect, Abiodun Ariori, whose last known address is in Egbeda, is dark in complexion. If seen, he should be arrested and handed over to the nearest police station,” he said, urging the suspect to turn himself in.

He added that four policemen allegedly brought into Lagos by the suspect to provide him cover have been detained for illegal duty and are facing an orderly room trial.
Meanwhile, another violent incident was recorded at Balogun Market on Lagos Island, where one person was stabbed to death during a fight among hoodlums. Hundeyin explained that the suspect, identified as Ebuka Adindu from Abia State, stabbed Sodiq Ibrahim from Kogi State to death before turning the knife on himself. He is currently under police custody while receiving treatment at a hospital.
The police dismissed reports of ethnic clashes in the market, insisting it was a fight among miscreants. Hundeyin urged residents and traders to go about their businesses without fear, assuring that law and order had been restored.
