Naira Strengthens Slightly Against Dollar in Official and Parallel Markets
The Nigerian naira on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, recorded modest gains against the US dollar in both the official and parallel markets.
According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the official exchange rate appreciated to ₦1,537.20 per dollar, up from ₦1,533.50 on Monday, reflecting a slight improvement of ₦3.70.

Similarly, the naira strengthened in the parallel market, trading at around ₦1,550 to a dollar, compared to ₦1,565 the previous day.

This development also saw a narrowing of the gap between the official and parallel markets, with the spread reducing from ₦31.50 to ₦12.80.
