The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT)has extended its deepest condolences to the Government and people of Kano State over the tragic road accident at Dakatsalle, ♦♦which claimed the lives of 21 young athletes and accompanying officials.
This heartbreaking incident occurred as the athletes were returning from proudly representing Kano at the recently concluded National Sports Festival in Abeokuta.
In his message of sympathy signed by the National Public Relation Secretary, Alhaji Shamsideen Owolabi Oseni,the President of NASFAT, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, expressed sorrow and solidarity with the affected families and the Kano State Government.
He described the athletes as heroes who served their state with honor, and whose untimely demise has left the nation in mourning. He called for national unity in prayers for the victims and their loved ones.
Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Imam Maroofdeen AbdulAzeez Onike, led prayers for the deceased and their families. Quoting from the Holy Qur’an, “Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un” (To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return), he prayed for divine mercy upon the souls of the departed and for comfort and strength for their families.
Imam Onike further reminded the public of the fleeting nature of life and the importance of prayer and reflection in times of national grief.
He encouraged the people of Kano and Nigeria at large to draw closer to Allah and support one another.
“This loss is not just to Kano State but to the entire country. These young athletes were patriotic ambassadors whose dedication brought pride to their homeland. Their sacrifice will not be forgotten.”
