Oyelola Emerges PRO of ASUP, Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti
A lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication, Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, Mr. Oyelola Oyewale, has been elected Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution’s Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) chapter.
Oyelola secured 194 votes to defeat Mr. Adelana of the Urban and Regional Planning Department, who polled 127 votes, in the election held on Tuesday at the Polytechnic’s Conference Hall.

In his manifesto, the media expert pledged to launch the ASUP-FPA Quarterly Bulletin and give the chapter’s activities deserving media visibility.
Oyelola, who joined the Polytechnic in 2019, is currently the Vice President (Administration and Communications) of the Nigerian Guild of Investigative Journalists (NGIJ) and Secretary of the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP). He is also a member of the International Press Institute (IPI), Vienna, Austria, and the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN).

He holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations and Strategic Studies, with professional experience spanning journalism, media consultancy, and political communications.
