Taoheed Taiwo Wins Ejigbo LCDA Chairmanship, APC Sweeps Councillorship Seats
Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, has been officially declared the winner of the Ejigbo LCDA Chairmanship election held on July 12. Taiwo emerged victorious after securing a commanding 34,371 votes, defeating his closest challenger from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Adekunle Olatunde Moses, who polled 421 votes.
The result was formally announced by the Ejigbo LCDA Returning Officer, Mr. Adeolu Rasaki, who confirmed Taiwo as the duly elected chairman, having satisfied the legal requirements and garnered the majority of votes.
In his victory speech, Taiwo expressed gratitude to God, his family, the APC leadership, and the electorate. He promised to utilise the four-year mandate to deliver meaningful projects and the dividends of democracy to the people of Ejigbo.
“I am overwhelmed with joy and thankful to everyone who made this possible. This victory is not for me alone but for the people of Ejigbo. I recognize the weight of the responsibility ahead and pledge to translate our promises into impactful actions,” Taiwo said.
Known among supporters as “Hon. TAT”, Taiwo reaffirmed his commitment to swiftly implementing his seven-point development agenda and praised the electorate for turning out in large numbers across all six wards.
“The people have spoken clearly and peacefully. Now is the time to move from campaign promises to concrete performance,” he said.

Electoral Body Commends Peaceful Conduct
The Electoral Officer for Ejigbo LCDA, Mr. Babatunde, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of voters throughout the election process, noting significant improvement compared to previous experiences.

“The voters were orderly and civil. From Okeafa to Ilamoshe, people turned out peacefully and made their choices. This cooperation made our work easier,” Babatunde remarked.
Collation Officer, Mrs. Abioye Folanke, announced the ward-by-ward results, confirming APC’s landslide victory.
With this outcome, the APC consolidates its political dominance in Ejigbo LCDA ahead of the next electoral cycle.
