Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, in a statement on Sunday, said insinuations of marginalisation were based on half-truths and misinformation. He maintained that ongoing infrastructure projects, federal appointments and social interventions reflect the government’s commitment to balanced development.
According to him, major road, rail, power and health projects are being implemented simultaneously in different parts of the country. He explained that while the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway cuts through the South, the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway traverses the North, stressing that no region is being sidelined.
Idris also cited rehabilitation of the Eastern rail corridor from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri, light rail projects in Kano, Kaduna, Lagos and Ogun, as well as the ongoing upgrade of over 1,000 primary health centres nationwide as proof of inclusivity. He added that the administration has advanced the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Road, the 2nd Niger Bridge access routes, the Bodo–Bonny Road in Rivers, among other strategic projects.
The minister said verifiable data show that while the Northwest currently enjoys the highest share of project approvals, the South, East and other regions are also receiving substantial allocations, contrary to the narrative of imbalance.

He further argued that equity is reflected in federal appointments, which he said have been spread across the country in line with competence and inclusivity.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda is about fairness and balanced development. President Tinubu has proven himself as a pragmatic and unifying leader. Nigerians can rest assured that no part of the country will be left behind under his watch,” Idris stated.
