Tinubu Orders Temporary Ban on Export of Raw Shea Nuts
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the temporary suspension of unprocessed shea nut exports from Nigeria.
The directive, which takes immediate effect, was announced on Tuesday by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari.

According to the minister, the decision is intended to promote value addition through local processing, strengthen the agro-industrial sector, and ensure that Nigeria derives greater economic benefits from its agricultural resources.
Kyari explained that the move aligns with regional policies in West Africa, noting that countries like Ghana and Burkina Faso have introduced similar restrictions to stimulate domestic industries, create jobs, and increase foreign exchange earnings from processed shea products.
